About Paper IO

Paper IO drops you onto a crowded map as a small colored cube with one ambition: own as much of the board as possible. You expand by venturing out of your territory, drawing a trail, and closing the loop back home; everything inside becomes yours.

The catch is that everyone else is doing the same thing. While your trail is exposed outside your own land, any opponent who crosses it eliminates you on the spot, and you can return the favor. That risk-versus-reward tension makes every expansion run a small gamble.

How to Play Paper IO

The rules take seconds to learn. Grow your territory, protect your trail, and look for chances to cut off greedy opponents.

Controls

• Use the WASD keys or arrow keys to steer your cube.
• Leave your territory to draw a trail, then return to claim the enclosed area.

Strategy

• Take small bites early; long loops leave your trail exposed for ages.
• Stay near your borders when enemies are close so you can retreat quickly.
• Watch for opponents on long raids and slice across their trail for an easy elimination.
• Defend your edges by patrolling them rather than camping in the center.

Matches are fast and competitive, and the constant tug-of-war over territory keeps every round feeling fresh.
