How to Play 2048

Use the arrow keys to slide all tiles up, down, left, or right. When two tiles of the same value collide, they merge into one tile worth their sum, and you score points for every merge.

Strategy tips

Anchor your highest tile in one corner and keep it there, building descending values along one edge so big merges stay reachable. Avoid moving in the direction that frees your corner tile, and think a move or two ahead rather than chasing every easy merge. Combine smaller tiles early to keep the board open, and watch where new tiles spawn, since a badly placed one can wreck a carefully built chain. Discipline beats speed every time in 2048.
