About Tetris

Tetris is the legendary puzzle game that needs no introduction. Geometric shapes called Tetriminos fall from the top of the screen, and your job is to rotate and position them so they form complete horizontal lines.

Every finished line vanishes and awards points, while the falling speed steadily increases. The game ends only when the stack reaches the top, so the real opponent is always yourself and your last high score.

How to Play Tetris

Guide each falling piece into place before it lands, keeping your stack low and your lines clean.

Controls

• Left arrow or A: move the piece left.
• Right arrow or D: move the piece right.
• Up arrow or W: rotate the piece.
• Down arrow or S: speed up the drop.

Tips and strategies

Use the ghost image showing where the piece will land to plan placements precisely. Keep the stack flat and low, since tall uneven towers end games fast, and leave a column open along one side for the long straight piece that clears four lines at once. Think one or two pieces ahead rather than reacting to whatever is falling, and save multi-line clears for when the speed picks up, because that is where the big scores live.
