About TriMerge

TriMerge is a sliding number puzzle played on a 4x4 grid, built around one unusual rule: everything revolves around the number 3. You combine a 1 and a 2 to make a 3, and from there only identical tiles can merge, climbing through 6, 12, 24 and beyond. The board fills a little more with every move, and the game ends when no merge is possible.

The scoring system adds your tile values together at the end, so every decision about where a new 3 forms has long-term consequences. It is easy to learn and genuinely hard to play well.

How to Play TriMerge

Swipe on mobile or use the arrow keys on PC to slide all tiles in one direction. Tiles that can merge will combine when pushed together. After every move, a new tile appears on the board.

The Merging Rules

  • 1 only merges with 2, and 2 only merges with 1
  • From 3 upward, only identical tiles can merge
  • A new tile appears after every move
  • The game ends when the board is full with no merges left

Strategy Tips

Use the grid edges to bring 1s and 2s together, since they often get stranded in the middle. Try to trigger multiple merges in a single slide to free up space and multiply your score. Keep your highest tile parked in a corner and build around it, and always check what a slide will do to your big tiles before committing to it.
